When we moved into our house 13 years ago, I was so grateful for our kitchen. We had already moved six times in three years, so a home of our own felt like a remarkable gift. It started with brown cabinets and granite countertops. It was great for our growing family, but slowly we made some changes. Without any direct light into the kitchen, the dark colors were, well, dark.
